BATBAND Headphones Play Music Through Your Skull, Not Your Ears

Ever since headphones were invented back in 1958, people all over the world have enjoyed the ability to privately listen to music while in the office, while travelling, or while working out, but there's one down side to them - they completely block out noise from the outside world. StudioBananaThings believe they have a solution to this - the BATBAND - headphones which, instead of playing music into your ears, use bone conductive sound technology to play it through your skull.

The technology works using three transducers - two above the ear and one on the occipital bone on the back of your head - each of which vibrate the bones around your ear to send sound directly to the inner ear. According to the Kickstarter video, this results in a sound which feels like it's emanating from inside your head outward, instead of the other way round.

There's also a built-in microphone for phone calls, meaning the other person's voice will sound like it's coming from the inside of your head… Check it out in the video below and, if you like what you see, head over to Kickstarter where you can pre-order a set.
