Mo:vel is a fresh new footwear brand that channels the spirit of "Ginga", a feeling which encapsulates the freedom and movement of Brazil's street footballers, and the flow of martial art dance Capoeira. Officially launching themselves to the world this year, the exciting new brand pairs super flexible materials and design with on-point, clean streetwear style.

The Mo:vel team, each of whom united by a common interest, wanted to create shoes that inspire people around the world to move with more joy, freedom and rhythm. Their debut collection looks to have achieved just that, featuring silhouettes designed with a distinctive wave structure across the body, as well as a rubber sole with key pivot points that allows the wearer to move in whichever way feels best. Vibrancy and colourfulness comes from two guest graphic artists, Bruno Nunes Coelho and André Coelho Moreira, who each have created some vibey patterns inspired by the rhythms of Bossa Nova, Axé and Forró to adorn the side of Mo:vel’s high-top, low-cut and jogger silhouettes.

Filmmaker Mollie Mills has created a short film to introduce the spirit of the brand, documenting the lives of four young Brazilians as they explore and talk about their home city of Rio De Janeiro. Far from just showing off their lovely looking trainers, this film documents people who truly embody the spirit of "Ginga", embracing the feeling through Capoeira, football and the city's rich nightlife scene. Check it out above and take a closer look at Mo:vel and their debut collection here.
