Sony has just introduced its latest flagship pair of noise cancelling headphones - the MDR-1000X.

Equipped with a new features such as "Sense Engine" and "Quick Attention", the £330 headphones aim to the on some of the best noise cancelling headphones on the market.

The "Sense Engine" essentially allows the headphones to adjust the noise cancelling performance by examining the shape of the user's head, while "Quick Attention" lets the user pause the noise-cancelling function by simply putting their hand up to the right ear cup, allowing you to hear public announcements while keeping the headphones on. There's also an "Ambient Sound Mode", which is basically somewhere in the middle and mixes both ambient sounds and your music, helping to keep you aware of your surroundings.

As well as working alongside the "Quick Attention" feature, the right ear cup also lets you adjust the volume with up and down swipes. Left and right swipes will skip the track backwards or forwards.

They also boast 20 hours of battery life in wireless mode, Hi-Res Audio playback, an S-Master HX audio amp, and Sony's own LDAC technology, allowing for higher quality playback than Bluetooth, more than justifying that £330 price tag.

The Sony MDR-1000X headphones are available online now.
