Cambridge Audio Yoyo (S) Portable Bluetooth Speaker

Cambridge Audio’s new range of Yoyo speakers look very nice indeed. They come in Small (S), Medium (M), and Large (L), and are all covered in elegant and very British wool from world-renowned Yorkshire weavers Marton Mills. We got sent the Yoyo (S) to test out at HUH. Studios.

The speaker is packed full with impressive sounding equipment. It houses two full range drivers, a subwoofer and a passive bass radiator. What this means is you get a remarkable sound from such a small little thing. The bass in particular is very powerful and crystal clear.

We were happily listening to our HUH. Playlist all day and not noticing too much of difference in quality from our usual (much larger) speaker set up.

The Yoyo (S) also has a few other nifty features other than it’s quality sound. There’s a USB port so you can charge your phone while listening (a simple but very handy feature) and the battery lasts up to 14 hours before you need to re-charge. The touch sensitive control panel is easy to use and looks quite nice all lit up, but the gesture controls are a bit unnecessary and we ended up accidentally pausing and skipping tracks a few times.

Although it’s described as "portable", we’d be a bit worried about getting the lovely wool cover all messy by taking it to the park or wherever. Having said that, it does work perfectly to move around the house/garden to use as a very good quality small speaker which’ll surprise most people with it’s huge sound.

The Yoyo (S) is available for 150. Head to Cambridge Audio’s website for more information.
