A week ahead of the release of their new album Humanz, Gorillaz have launched a global listening party via their augmented reality app so you can hear it in full right now.
The catch is you need to find one of the 500 "Spirit House" locations worldwide in order to stream it. Once you download the app, you can follow clues to unlock directions to your nearest listening party. We lucked out, as our nearest streaming location is just a couple hundred meters away, but if you head to Gorillaz's Facebook, you can see a lot of screenshots of people who are not so lucky.
Engadget interviewed the app developers, so head their for a bit more insight into how it all works. They describe it as a "bit like Pokemon Go, but instead of finding a tiny monster, you're rewarded with a stream of the entire album" - which is very accurate.
Good luck finding a stream. If you can’t manage it, then you’ll have to wait to enjoy Humanz on 28 April when it’s released properly.
