Tim Cook Confirms Apple Is Working On Self-Driving Cars

Apple CEO Tim Cook has confirmed for the first time that the company is developing technology to power self-driving cars. Apple has long been rumoured to be working on a self-driving car, with the efforts internally known as "Project Titan".

Speaking during an interview with Bloomberg, Cook didn’t give too much away about what Apple are up to, but did state that it is "focusing on autonomous systems" and that it "sort of sees it as the mother of all AI projects".

He went on to say: "Autonomy is something that’s incredibly exciting for us, but we’ll see where it will take us. We’re not really saying from a product point of view what we’ll do, but we’re being straightforward that it’s a core technology we view as very important".

So for those of you hoping for a car with a big Apple logo on the front some time soon that seems unlikely, but as far as developing the technology to make self-driving cars a product for the masses, we could see it happen in the near future.

Apple just named the best designed apps of 2017. Take a look at them here.
