New Line has released a new trailer for it's upcoming adaptation of Steven King's horror novel It, featuring the fear-inducing, murderous clown Pennywise.

"When you’re a kid, you think the universe revolves around you and that you’ll always be protected," says a chilling voice over in the trailer. "You don’t know the monsters are getting closer until it’s too late."

Set in the fictional town of Derry, Maine, the film follows a young gang as they face their fears, taking on the sinister, child-consuming clown. "It is a horror movie, but it’s not only that," said the director, Andy Muschietti, when speaking at Comic-Con. "It’s a story of love and friendship and a lot of other beautiful emotions."

Stars include Bill Skarsgard (as Pennywise), Stranger Things star Finn Wolfhard, Jaeden Lieberher, Jack Dylan Grazer, Wyatt Oleff, Chosen Jacobs, and Jeremy Ray Taylor.

It'll be in cinemas from 8 September. Watch the trailer above.
