According to reports, Rolan Feld, the son of the T.Rex's frontman Marc Bolan, has filed a lawsuit against Sony Pictures for using T.Rex track "Debora" in recent action film Baby Driver without a permission.

Marc Bolan sadly died during a car accident in 1977 while his son was still an infant, but it wasn't until 2014 that Rolan Feld obtained the copyright to 144 of his father's works. He's now leveraging this and going up against Sony, Media Rights Capital, Bambino Films and others responsible for Baby Driver.

It appears that Feld actually first found out the song was used in Baby Driver when a representative at Sony Music reached out to his lawyer to try and gain a licence for the film's soundtrack. "In other words, at least one division of Sony had no trouble determining Plaintiff was the rightful owner of the U.S. copyright in the composition," continues the complaint.

Sony is yet to comment about the lawsuit.
