Skepta has teamed-up with Nike to deliver a new iteration of the classic Air Max 97 silhouette - simply named the Nike Air Max 97 Sk.

Inspired by the colour palette he witnessed during a trip to Morocco, as well as the the colourway of the 1999 Air Tuned Max - the first shoe Skepta says he ever saved up to buy - the Air Max 97 Sk features an iridescent, polyutherane-coated, copper/rose gold leather upper paired with black mesh and a yellow air unit. The insole is inspired by Moroccan patterns and also includes an "Sk" logo which pays homage to the Air Max TN.

Speaking to Nike about the shoe, Skepta said:

"Air Max is museum-worthy. They’re worthy of standing next to other pieces of art. That's why it's more than just a shoe. And it's always been that for me. When looking at this 97, I just wanted to feel the way I did when I was a child. And we got there. It's perfect."

The Nike Air Max 97 Sk will be available globally on 2 September via Nike+ SNKRS, and at select retailers. Head over to Nike’s website for more information.
