Following an agonisingly brief teaser shared earlier, as promised, a full trailer for Wes Anderson’s new feature film Isle of Dogs has arrived online. Watch it above in all of its glory!

Not much was known about the plot of the film, but the trailer gives a good outline of the story. Following an outbreak of dog flu in the Japanese city of Megasaki, the dog population is exiled to a place called "Trash Island". We get introduced to the main dog characters: Rex, King, Duke, Boss and Chief, and also meet a little boy called Atari Kobayashi who is searching for his lost dog Spots.

Isle of Dogs is Anderson’s second stop-motion animation feature film following 2009’s Fantastic Mr. Fox. It stars Edward Norton, Bill Murray, Tilda Swinton, Bryan Cranston, Scarlett Johansson, Greta Gerwig and Jeff Goldblum, and is out in cinemas on 23 March, 2018.

Isle of Dogs tells the story of Atari Kobayashi, 12-year-old ward to corrupt Mayor Kobayashi. When, by Executive Decree, all the canine pets of Megasaki City are exiled to a vast garbage-dump called Trash Island, Atari sets off alone in a miniature Junior-Turbo Prop and flies across the river in search of his bodyguard-dog, Spots. There, with the assistance of a pack of newly-found mongrel friends, he begins an epic journey that will decide the fate and future of the entire Prefecture.
