After first mentioning it at CES 2016, GoPro has now officially unveiled its 360-degree camera. Called the Fusion, it features two lenses that shoot up to 5.2K at 30 frames-per-second and take 18-megapixel spherical photos. It also has the ability to capture 360-degree sound, is waterproof up to 16 feet, and comes with GPS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, an accelerometer, gyroscope, and compass, all of which can be used to stabilise the 360-degree footage.

As well as being used to create 360-degree videos for YouTube and other supporting platforms, GoPro's CEO Nick Woodman is also excited about a creative term called "OverCapture", or the ability to select flat 1080p footage (or photos) from the 360-degree images that have been captured. Basically, you'll no longer have to point your camera in the right direction. You can just pick out your shot in post-production. Something that's especially useful if you would have normally missed the action.

The GoPro Fusion will be shipping in November for $699 USD (approx. 520).
