We just stumbled across a wonderful short film over on Vimeo titled Richard Twice. It tells the story of psychedelic folk musician Richard Atkins and his band Richard Twice.

Atkins was a rising star in 1968 after landing a record deal with Mercury Records and recording with a group of Los Angeles session musicians known as the Wrecking Crew, but following a disastrous gig it all fell apart and Atkins disappeared from the music scene entirely.

Directed by Brooklyn-based filmmaker Matthew Salton, Richard Twice documents the rise and fall of his career with an interview of Atkins overlaid with some brilliant animations.
