Condé Nast unveils LGBTQ publication "Them"

'This isn't a market. It's a movement.'

Condé Nast has just unveiled the first new details of a new LGBTQ publication it's working on called "Them".

Phillip Picardi, who has been transforming Teen Vogue over the past two years, will helm the multi-platform project, focussing on politics, fashion, and real-life stories from LGBTQ individuals who are underrepresented in traditional media publications. He will also continue in his current roles at Teen Vogue and Allure.

"If I’ve learned anything from my time at Teen Vogue, it’s that young people are dominating our culture and they’re going to shape it in a way that we really weren’t expecting, particularly in matters of gender and sexuality,” said Picardi when speaking to Business of Fashion. "Wouldn’t it be incredible if Condé Nast were the first publisher to really step up to the plate and want to be the ones who were telling those stories in an authentic and personal way?"

As well as content creation, Them will collaborate with queer designers, put on book clubs events, and will make appearances at Pride parades.

Them will officially debut later this month.
