36ft Harvey Weinstein effigy to be burned at Kent Bonfire Night

A huge 36-foot effigy of Harvey Weinstein, the disgraced film producer who is being investigated for a disturbing number of sexual assaults, is set to be burned at a Kent Bonfire Night this Saturday, 2 November.

The Edenbridge Bonfire Society regularly picks out celebrities to burn at the event, with previous effigies including Donald Trump, Sepp Blatter and Katie Hopkins.

Speaking about the Weinstein effigy, a spokesperson for Edenbridge Bonfire Society said: "While the burning of the guys is aimed as a light-hearted way to mark the traditional bonfire night celebrations in the UK, there is of course nothing funny about Weinstein’s behaviour, so it seemed only fair that he gets his comeuppance in effigy form."

More than 10,000 people are expected to attend the event, with all the money raised going to local charities.
