MUJI's micro huts are now available to purchase

MUJI announced its beautiful looking MUJI Hut concept six months ago, and now the minimal living spaces are available to purchase in Japan.

They cost as little as 3 million Japanese Yen (around 20,000 or $26,500), which includes the costs of materials for the construction of the hut as well as the operating costs of the construction contractor.

MUJI say: "Who hasn’t dreamt of living somewhere they really want to be? The tools to make that dream a reality are now available. It’s not as dramatic as owning a house or a vacation home, but it’s not as basic as going on a trip."

The huts are made from Japanese wood and feature large sliding glass doors, a porch, and a high shed roof. Although fairly small in size, the minimal design will allow for up to four people to comfortably fit in the hut at a time.

Head over to MUJI’s dedicated MUJI Hut website for more info, and if you’re in Japan, get all of the details on how to purchase your own MUJI Hut!

The site unfortunately states there is no scheduled release date for the concept outside of Japan.
