"Get Out" is set to compete as a Comedy at the Golden Globes

Get Out, Jordan Peele’s smash hit horror film released early in 2017, is set to compete in the Comedy category at the Golden Globes.

Although nominations are yet to be announced, the film will most likely be up against the likes of The Disaster Artist, The Big Sick, and Battle of the Sexes.

The Golden Globe Awards have previous for things like this, with science fiction/drama film The Martian strangely winning Best Motion Picture - Musical or Comedy last year. The odd category choices are most likely down to the fact that they only have two fairly broad awards for films - Musical or Comedy and Drama.

One of Get Out’s stars Lil Rel Howery shared his thoughts on the move via Twitter:

Golden Globe nominations are announced 11 December with the awards ceremony taking place on 8 January.
