Rick and Morty Season 4 may not arrive until 2019

Bad news for Rick and Morty fans, Season 4 of the hit Adult Swim show may not be arriving until 2019 according to one of the show’s writers Ryan Ridley.

Speaking during an interview on the podcast The Detroit Cast, Ridley explained that the show has a very long production process (which he doesn’t sound too happy about) and that he’d be surprised if a new season gets "on the air anytime sooner than 2019… in late 2019". He also said that as far as he knows, no one is currently working on Season Four.

The gap between Season Two and Season Three of Rick and Morty was around 18 months, so it looks like it might be an even longer wait for Season Four.

Have a read of an expert of Ridley’s interview below and head over to The Detroit Cast to have listen for yourself.

"They really take their time. I never understood why everybody - all parties, Dan, Justin, and Adult Swim - didn’t get their shit together, and make the show fast. I just don’t get it. It doesn’t make any sense to me. I’m sure they all have their reasons…

We got done writing season 3 in November of last year and here we are 11 months later. And then I know how long the show takes to write, let alone animate, so it’s just like, I’d be surprised if there was a fourth season on the air any sooner than 2019… in late 2019."
