Instagram is testing a regram feature for Stories

A small amount of Instagram users are reporting a new feature which allows them to "regram" someone else's (or their own) Instagram post within Stories. It also has the option to add text around it and features a "See Post" hovering button, which takes the user to the original Instagram post.

"We’re always testing ways to make it easier to share any moment with friends on Instagram" said an Instagram spokesperson when speaking to TechCrunch.

According to reports, you simply find the public Instagram post you want to share and tap a button to embed it in your Story. From there, you can change the embedded image size, the background colour (or fade) and add the usual text and emojis around or over it. Users who don't want to have their images shared can turn off the option in their settings.

This is just in the testing phases for now, but given how much time people spend in Stories compared to the main Instagram Feed, we can definitely see this becoming a permanent feature.
