Boutique hotel chain Ace Hotel has unveiled plans to open a ninth location next year, this time located in Kyoto, Japan. Famed architect Kengo Kuma has been appointed to help lead the project, following his work on The Opposite House in Beijing and the soon-to-be-completed Olympic Stadium in Tokyo.

"Ace Hotel Kyoto will be a place in honest dialogue with Kyoto’s past and future legends. It’s our long-standing dream come true," reads the holding page on Ace Hotel's website. It "sits on the former grounds of the imperial palace and is rumored to once have been the home of Japanese samurai."

Located within walking distance of landmarks such as Nijō Castle, Nishiki Market, the Museum of Kyoto, and the Kyoto Art Center, Ace Hotel Kyoto is sure to be another success for the rapidly growing company.
