Brooklyn Nine-Nine has been cancelled by Fox

After five strong seasons, Fox has decided to bring its critically-acclaimed cop comedy Brooklyn Nine-Nine to an end.

Although it gained a loyal following for tacking important topics like gun violence and racial profiling, while remaining incredibly funny, the show still had low ratings which has caused Fox to ultimately let it go. It will be the network's second-longest running TV show, beaten only by New Girl.

Hope's not entirely lost though, as the huge number of fans expressing their outrage on social media have caused other networks like Hulu and TBS to show interest in picking up the show, according to Deadline.

So, if you want to save detective Jake Peralta and pals, head to Twitter to mouth off about its cancellation.
