A Wiley biopic is in the works

A film charting Wiley's rise to fame as the "Godfather of Grime" is currently in the pipeline. It's helmed by Pulse Films alongside record label BMG and director Adam Smith and will trace Wiley's roots as a performer on pirate radio in East London, all the way to selling out huge venues and achieving global fame.

"This is my life, my highs and lows, but it’s not really all about me," said Wiley when speaking to Variety. "When I make music, help the scene or even do something like this, it’s like I’m not alone any more. It’s for people who grew up like me. I’m doing it to help people who are lost like me."

As well as working on big budget projects like 2016's Trespass Against Us, Smith has actually worked with Wiley in the past on his video for "Wot Do U Call It", so hopefully the documentary will have an in-depth, personal feel to it. "Making a film about this incredible talent and his story 15 years later is very exciting," said Smith of the project.

Stay tuned for more info.
