  • Sadly, according to the Wall Street Journal, Kodak are preparing to declare bankruptcy. Founded in 1892, the company have played a massive role in the development of photography, introducing both colour 35mm film and the megapixel sensor. The only option for the company now is to sell a portion of their digital patents, if not, bankruptcy proceedings are expected to happen within the month…

    • If Portra ends, my world ends. Don't say it's so Kodak!

    • The problem of kodak is the digital sector. I read somewhere that film business is going quite well for them. It seems unlikely that theyd stop producing overnight... Anyhow, I'll start filling my fridge with Portra.

    • I just spoke with a Kodak company person who assured me that Kodak will continue to produce both film and chemicals as they have in the past. They are restructuring. The sky has not fallen...yet.

    • Shit! That's bad news! Fuji makes decent colour 35mm film and Ilford has always been my personal choice for B+W. Might be harder for colour Medium and Large Format users though? I'm sure someone with buy the company, look at Polaroid with fucking Gaga as they're creative director?
