  • Historical photography blog Retronaut have dug out some photographs of Clint Eastwood on the set of the popular Don Siegel directed action film Dirty Harry, which was released back in 1971. The role, which sees Eastwood playing a police inspector named Harry Callahan who has the job of tracking down a crazed psychopath, was one of the first to propel the actor into the limelight and secure his position as an enduring cultural icon. The behind-the-scenes images give us an insight into what it was like to work with Eastwood as well as revealing parts of his personality.
