40 Billion Floating Airport for London

Engineering consultancy Beckett Rankine have revealed a proposal for a 40 billion floating airport on the Thames estuary designed take some of the stress away from London's existing airports. As one of the busiest cities in the world, year on year it becomes increasingly obvious that London will not be able to deal with flight demand in the near future. Several other plans have been proposed, including Norman Foster's London Britannia Airport, but each would use up precious land space. The floating airport would be just 40 minutes underground travel from central London and would be able to operate 24-hours a day as there are no nearby homes who would be affected by the noise.
