  • Detroiturbex - a website dedicated to raising awareness of the social and economic challenges the city of Detroit faces through photography - have created a new series entitled "Now and Then." Taken in the now dilapidated and abandoned Lewis Cass Technical High School, the series shows us the striking difference between the boom years of the establishment and its current state by combining old and new images. For the full series, head over to Detroiturbex.com.

    • Thanks for compiling and putting these together. I think people need to be reminded of things. If there were a physical book of these, I would certainly buy it...just sayin'.

    • I think someone needs to do a little more research, the Lewis Cass Technical High School is not abandoned and dilapidated. It was razed in 2011 after a new, state of the art building was built to house the school next door in 2004. Its a nice attempt at social commentary, but since the new school was actually an example of expansion and improvement in Detroit it seems to have missed its mark. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cass_Technical_High_School
