  • Portland-based cinematography company Cineastas have provided us with a video profile of Mike Friton - "a freelance shoemaker, weaver, paper sculptor and innovator with over 30 years of experience at Nike." As well as founding Nike's Innovation Kitchen, Friton is also responsible for many of the athletic footwear elements that people wear today, including the hugely popular and innovative Flyknit model. In the video, we learn about Friton's early experience as a track runner, which led him to modify his clunky footwear in a way which left the basic construction in tact while hugely reducing the weight.
