Ship manufacturers Maersk teamed up with Discovery Channel to create a timelapse showing the construction of the world's largest ship. At 400 metres long, 59 metres wide, and 73 metres high, the 55,000 ton Triple-E vessel took over three months to build and has been specially designed to save up to 20% more fuel by sailing at the slow speed of 30 km/hour. During its lifetime, the Triple-E will carry up to 18,000 twenty foot shipping containers between Asia and Europe, taking 24 to 25 days on each trip. Over 50,000 photographs were taken to create the timelapse above, all of which have been condensed down into just 76 seconds of footage. Watch above!
