3D Printed Sugar Cubes

  • Posted 65 months Ago

With 3D printing continuing to develop and push the boundaries of what is possible, Los-Angeles-based architecture team the Sugar Lab has created sugar cubes in complex three-dimensional forms by utilising additive technologies. The cubes were first digitally modeled in CAD and then printed in real time layer after layer using a mixture of water and alcohol. The sculptures can then be used to customise pastries and cakes or for use in coffee and tea, although you can bet they'll be a lot more expensive than your usual sugar cube.
