  • As one of only two traditional globemakers in the world, Peter Bellerby has attracted the attention of filmmakers Charles Arran Busk & Jamie McGregor Smith, who visited the Bellerby and Co. Globemakers' studio in Stoke Newington, London. The six-minute short film documents the intricate processes that go into making these delicate objects, as well as including a brief interview with Bellerby himself. "I did this as a direct result of searching for a globe for my father's 80th birthday," he says. "Initially my plan was to make one for him and maybe one for me, but then things went crazily out of control … When I set this up I did it thinking it can't be that difficult, it can't take more than a few months. But then at the same time I was wondering why there was only one other person in the world making handmade globes." Watch above!
