Dutch artist Parra (aka. Piet Janssen) has opened his latest solo show at the Ruttkowski68 gallery in Cologne, Germany. Entitled "And Wait for Something to Happen", the exhibition features an entirely new body of work including 11 large canvas paintings, 11 ink drawings, and porcelain editions produced in collaboration with CaseStudyo. The pieces in the show demonstrate Parra's development as an artist, introducing the colour green for the first time as well as some previously unseen shadowing on the characters, making a move away from his usual "super flat" aesthetic. Lettering has also been put to the side here in favour of bold patterns such as polka dots and candy-cane stripes. Fans will be pleased to see that the naked female form is still heavily present as well as a strong focus on sexuality. The exhibition will be running until 17 November, 2013.
