• Video: Wieden + Kennedy Unveil The First Nike Commercials

  • Wieden + Kennedy - the advertising agency responsible for Nike's infamous "Just Do It" slogan - have now released some of their early work for the sports brand. Originally thought to have been lost to time, the videos were hunted down by W+K's digital librarian Phoebe Owens, alongside Nike's very own historian Scott Reames, and W+K co-founder David Kennedy. Titled "Evolution", "Trophy", and "Co-op", the commercials first aired during the 1982 New York City Marathon. 32 years on, Nike and Wieden + Kennedy are still releasing some of the most progressive and inspiring adverts.
