Five years ago, on 30 October, 2009, Icelander Hjörtur Smárason went out and bought a burger and fries from the last McDonald's in the country, the day before it closed. Even more bizarrely, the meal was donated to the National Museum in Iceland, who kept it in storage for a year before passing it on to Bus Hostel Reykjavik, who have set up a real-time live stream allowing people all around the world to watch the burger's every move, 24/7.
