After two years of development, photo sharing site Flickr has unveiled a brand new redesign across web, iOS, Android, PC and Mac which aims to reinvigorate the service, making it the online photography powerhouse it once was.

Named Flickr 4.0, the update's biggest new feature is a tool called Uploadr, which looks for photos on your hard drive and uploads them to a private Flickr album in the background. This works alongside "Magic View", which uses Yahoo's image-recognition technology to generate dynamic albums, organising your photos into relevant categories and essentially doing the hard work for you.

The iOS and Android apps have also been redesigned from the ground up and now focus on the photographer's own work rather than mimicking Instagram with a feed of other people's shots, allowing users to make the most of the massive 1TB in online storage.
