19 Unpublished Photos from Nirvana's Underwater Shoot

Previously unseen photos from Nirvana's 1991 underwater shoot, which resulted in the iconic "baby swimming after a dollar" photo for the band's album Nevermind, have been unveiled by Modern Rocks Gallery in Austin, Texas. The promo shoot took place with photographer Kirk Weddle at a pool in Los Angeles, where the band clearly messed around for hours on end, although apparently the final baby shot only took about 15 minutes and half a roll of film.

Modern Rocks Austin will also be holding an exhibition of the series from 30 May - 27 June and will be selling numbered limited-edition copies at the launch (as well as online) alongside Nirvana-themed cocktails.
