If you’re looking to purchase something a little more exciting than an Amazon Alexa or Google Home, Bang & Olufsen could have just the thing.
Named the Beosound Balance, the new £1,750 speaker has been designed in the brand’s typically high-end style, featuring a fabric mesh-covered cylinder with a solid oak base and aluminium grilles in a Fibonacci pattern.
“An interior silhouette balancing gracefully on a base of natural wood. The simplicity of this design, rooted in Scandinavian minimalism, contrasts strongly with its raw, high-performing sound,” says Bang & Olufsen. “Beosound Balance is luxurious design in an interior object form.”
Of course, it’s not just about the looks. The speaker packs a punch with two 5.25-inch bass drivers, two 2-inch full-range drivers, one 3/4 tweeter, and two 3-inch full-range drivers at the back.
Button-wise, everything has been neatly hidden away using proximity sensors, so the controls only appear when needed. “When you walk away from Besound Balance, the controls dim once more leaving only the well-crafted aluminium surface visible.” It also features Google Assistant, so you can issue commands without touching a thing.
The Beosound Balance is available now in either a grey & natural oak or solid black oak.
