It’s being reported that Apple has struck an agreement with film studio A24 to produce multiple films over the next few years.
Despite being just six years old, A24 has already made a name for itself in the film industry with critically-acclaimed films such as The Lobster, Ex Machina, Lady Bird, Mid90s, Hereditary, and Moonlight, which won an Oscar for Best Picture in 2016.
This seems like a strong move from Apple and is definitely a step in the right direction after the release of disasters such as Planet of the Apps.
Planet of the Apps aside, the tech giant has always managed to place a focus on quality over quantity, often working alongside esteemed artists and directors such as FKA twigs and Spike Jonze. A24 slots right into that bracket and demonstrates to customers that Apple really cares about supporting creators of original, high quality content.
Details of the deal are scarce, but it’s believed to be the most high-profile collaboration in A24’s history. Stay tuned for further details.
