As well as announcing new privacy features, Apple also used WWDC to showcase a new app that will come with iOS 12 called Measure. It’s an augmented reality tool that will let users measure pretty much anything. Demoing the app, Software Engineering Craig Federighi was able to quickly create an accurate wireframe of a suitcase with just a few tapes, displaying all the relevant dimensions.

It’s unclear what the limitations of the app will be, for example could you measure a whole building? But it’s great to see Apple pushing the limits of technology once again and keeping us exciting about what’s to come.

iOS 12 is expected to be released for free in September 2018.
