Belkin unveils the first ever battery pack with Lightning port charging

Belkin Power Bank

After four long years, it appears Apple has finally allowed Belkin to use its Lightning port technology on a new battery pack. That means that instead of having to use a MicroUSB or USB-C cable, you can now recharge the pack with the same Lightning cable you use for your iPhone or iPad.

That convenience comes at a price though, as the Belkin BoostCharge Power Bank Lightning 10K is currently available to pre-order for $59.99 – almost double the price of some of its competitor’s packs with similar capacity (10,000mAh – enough to charge an iPhone 7 Plus around three times).

“Designed especially for iPhone and iPad, this portable power bank is the first MFi-power bank to recharge via Lightning connector, allowing you to use the same Lightning cable to charge the power bank, as you use to charge your iPhone,” says Belkin. “This one-cable solution makes this small, thin, lightweight power bank (aka portable charger) ideal for on-the-go charging and is fully MFi-certified to guarantee compatibility with iPhone and iPad.”
