The former NFL quarterback Colin Kaerpernick, who launched a protest movement across the league after sitting and kneeling during the national anthem, is the face of Nike’s 30th anniversary “Just Do It” campaign.
Kaerpernick, who’s currently suing NFL owners for allegedly colluding to keep him out of the league, was signed by Nike back in 2011 but hasn’t actually been used by the sportswear brand for the past two years.
Now, he features alongside other athletes including Odell Beckham Jr., Shaquem Griffin, Lacey Baker, Serena Williams and LeBron James in the ad campaign, which carries the message: “Believe in something. Even if it means sacrificing everything.”
