Offended by the remarks of a British cave diver, who was instrumental in the rescue of the boys’ football team in Thailand, Elon Musk has taken to Twitter to call the man a “pedo”.
The 63-year-old diver, Vernon Unsworth, said he was “astonished and very angry” at the Tesla CEO’s tweets.
Musk vented his anger through the social media platform after Unsworth said Musk should “stick his submarine where it hurts”. He let off a flurry of tweets, saying the submarine absolutely would work and he would film a video of it going through the cave to prove it. He added: “Sorry pedo guy, you really did ask for it.”
When another Twitter user said that Musk was “calling the guy who found the children a pedo”, the he doubled down on the insult, responding: “Bet ya a signed dollar it’s true.” The tweets have since been deleted.
Unworth said he’s saved the tweets and that Musk has “lost the plot”. According to The Guardian, he is also considering legal action.
“I have a lot of support from people around the world astonished by his unfounded comments,” he said. “I don’t know the guy, never met the guy, and don’t want to meet the guy.”
