One of Elon Musk’s lesser-known companies, The Boring Company, has announced plans to build a 10 mile long underground loop that would connect up Las Vegas Strip of casino hotels, the downtown area, and McCarran International Airport.

The tunnel will reportedly speed up transport times 10 fold, with trips between the Las Vegas Convention Center to Mandalay Bay taking just 3 minutes, instead of the current 30 minutes.

Tesla Model 3s and Model Xs will be used as the transport vehicles, as well as a new “tram” based on the current Model 3 platform that can accommodate up to 16 people. The end goal will be for all the vehicles to drive autonomously, but at launch it’s likely they will still need drivers.

The proposal will be presented to the Las Vegas City Council this week.
