Forbes names Katy Perry as 2018’s highest paid woman in music

According to the calculations of Forbes, Katy Perry was the highest paid female musician in 2018, raking in $83 million (approx. £64.7m) between June 2017 and June 2018.

The majority of her annual income came from her worldwide Witness tour, which included 80 dates and averaged $1 million per night. She was also paid more than $20m for her work as a judge on American Idol.

Beyoncé, who took the number one spot last year, now sits in third place with an estimated $60m in earnings. Taylor Swift, meanwhile, has risen from third place to second place with $80m thanks to her global tour, Reputation.
