Frank Ocean’s has a string of successes when it comes to covers, most notably releasing his own renditions of Audrey Hepburn’s “Moon River” and Aaliyah’s “At Your Best”. Now, he’s teased a cover of SZA’s “The Weekend”.
The 15-second video was released on Instagram and has the song playing in the background during a drive. Frank Ocean also tagged SZA in the video along with some pink hearts.
“I have to live with the song for a bit and I have to see if it’s worthwhile to interpret it first,” said Ocean when speaking to GQ. “[I have] to see what I can do with it, where I can insert my voice.”
