It’s been revealed that DJ Gilles Peterson will be launching his own festival this summer called We Out Here.
Located somewhere in Cambridgeshire (exact location to be announced), the event promises to act as an extension of Peterson’s eclectic tastes, showcasing some of the biggest talents from jazz to electronic music.
While no acts have been named so far, the festival does take its name from his complication album, so it’s rumoured bands that feature on the record – such as Shabaka Hutchings, Moses Boyd, and Kokoroko – will appear in the line up.
“I really wanted to bring to the UK a festival that celebrates the elements of UK club culture, and the community that surrounds it, that I have been lucky enough to be a part of over the years,” said Peterson. “What’s amazing about the scene here is that there’s so much legacy as well as so much future. It really is about bringing all that together on one amazing site.”
We Out Here will take place from 15 – 18 August 2019.
