As you may have heard, the latest Forbes cover crowns Kylie Jenner, who is worth at least $900 million, as one of the richest self-made women in the United States. “At 21, she’s set to be the youngest-ever self-made billionaire,” a cover line reads.
Forbes has just unveiled its latest cover, which crowns Kylie Kenner as one of the richest self-made women in the US with a net-worth of at least $900 million.
Self-made means having succeeded in life unaided.

That term “self-made” should be used pretty lightly though, as clearly Jenner has benefited hugely from both her family name and the money she had available to start her own business. According to Fast Company, she had $250,000 “laying around” to kick things off. Let’s not play things down too much though, as growing Kylie Cosmetics into a $800 million business in just three-years is an incredibly feat, regardless of any family benefits, especially by the age of just 21.
Despite slowing business growth, Jenner will reach that $1 billion mark very soon, making her the youngest ever “self-made” billionaire, even beating Mark Zuckerberg who achieved billionaire status by 23.
