Netflix announces “Aziz Ansari: Right Now” directed by Spike Jonze – Watch the trailer

Actor and comedian Aziz Ansari is returning to streaming service Netflix with a new stand-up special named Aziz Ansari: Right Now.

The show will be the comedian’s first since he became wrapped up in a sexual assault allegation last year, after which he seemingly kept his head down and took a break TV and film. Speaking to Variety more recently, he said: “There were times I felt really upset and humiliated and embarrassed, and ultimately I just felt terrible this person felt this way. But you know, after a year, how I feel about it is, I hope it was a step forward. It made me think about a lot, and I hope I’ve become a better person”.

Directed by Spike Jonze (Her), expect this to be a little more intimate of a portrait than a usual stand-up show. It’ll premiere on Netflix on 9 July. Watch the trailer above.
