Swedish brand Our Legacy has announced it will be moving into womenswear, presenting its first Spring 2019 collection alongside the menswear offering during Paris Fashion Week this month.
“The idea of women’s has been with us for a very long time,” said brand co-founder Jockum Hallin while speaking to Business of Fashion. “Our brand DNA is already quite open.”
“Ever since the early stages of founding Our Legacy we have had women’s in mind while creating the menswear line,” added co-founder and head of design Cristopher Nying. “Women’s product is a very natural step for us, and an important one to make Our Legacy complete.”
The initial 90-piece women’s collection will retain the brands signature aesthetic, but will include more feminine silhouettes, helping the business to grow into new markets.
Since it was founded in 2005 as a line of graphic t-shirt, Our Legacy has gained a worldwide audience and is stocked in retailer such as Mr. Porter and Ssense, helping to bring in annual revenues of $9 million (2017).
Check back in the next few weeks for a first look at the women’s collection.
