The very first trailer has debuted for POKÉMON Detective Pikachu, a new feature-length film from Legendary Entertainment which stars Hollywood A-lister Ryan Reynolds in one of the lead roles as the detective himself.
By the looks of the trailer, the film will be bringing Deadpool‘s sense of humour (which actually just seems to be Reynolds’ sense of humour) to a younger audience, following Detective Pikachu as he works alongside 21-year-old Tim Goodman to find his missing father.
“Finding that they are uniquely equipped to communicate with one another, Tim and Pikachu join forces on a thrilling adventure to unravel the tangled mystery. Chasing clues together through the neon-lit streets of Ryme City—a sprawling, modern metropolis where humans and Pokémon live side by side in a hyper-realistic live-action world—they encounter a diverse cast of Pokémon characters and uncover a shocking plot that could destroy this peaceful co-existence and threaten the whole Pokémon universe,” reads the synopsis.
POKÉMON Detective Pikachu is set for release on 10 May 10 2019. Watch the trailer above.
