Sonos, one of the many brands currently working on a collaboration with IKEA, has shared an image teasing what we can expect from the upcoming SYMFONISK range.
The non-functional prototypes were unveiled during IKEA’s Democratic Design Days event in Sweden and show at least one model with brackets, meaning it can attach to the wall and could double up as a shelf. Not much else was revealed as it’s still such early days and, given that these prototypes weren’t functional, the end product could end up looking very different. Regardless, it does give us an idea of th styling the two brands are going for with the collection.
It was also revealed that the collection will most likely be priced under Sonos’s current line to make it more accessible to the masses:
“Many people dream of built-in sound systems, but few can afford it,” said Björn Block, business leader for Ikea Home Smart. “Our goal is for our collective work to save space, get rid of cords, make clutter invisible, and bring sound and music into the home in a more beautiful way.”
The final products will also be able to integrate seamlessly with the existing range of Sonos speakers and will be released in the latter half of 2019.
