Sony has confirmed that one of its best animated feature films – Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse – will be receiving a sequel.
Originally released in 2018, the first film follows Brooklyn teenager Miles Morales who, after being bitten by one of those pesky radioactive spiders, turns him into Spider-Man. It’s only when he meets Peter Parker that he realises there are many others just like him, each spread across different universes. Despite being new to the whole superhero thing, Miles is tasked with taking down the might Kingpin before he destroys life as we know it.
Little it known about what the follow up will focus on and it’s believed talks for an all-female version have been shelved for now. A release date of 8 April 2022 has been set though, so we’re bound to be receiving some teasers before too long.
